fantastical cheap versions of knock-off Disney characters;
overpriced goods and "western food";
what's it all spell? - Everyone's favorite amusement park:
EVERLAND!!!!
"Oh mommy, please can we go to the Sheepo & Mangmang shop....please!"
Everland also has a zoo on the fairgrounds...while it's a pretty nice zoo, the signs are a little bit freaky.
I believe this orangutan was inviting me up to her love nest...I too felt the fire, but sadly knew we must remain strangers in our separate worlds.
We had a hell of a time finding anything edible...Luckily we had "a fun" at Burgercafe.
The "UnMerry"-go-round. Not a favorite for Emma.
The awesome western attire of the park employees did nothing to alleviate Emma's pony-phobia.
The fields were alive with the sounds of Korean craziness...
Gots to look yo best when doin Everland baby!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY EMMA!!!We joined forces with the parents of another birthday girl, creating a joint party.
Not only did we make things easier on ourselves, but also did the world a favor by lowering the number of kid's birthday parties parents have to attend.
Compared with Emma's cake-eating one year ago, this year's was much less messy, though sadly less entertaining.
D-D-D-D DORA!!!
The party's theme was Dora the Explorer. The Dora pinata was very popular with all of the cute little sugar-lovin' kids!
Truly extraordinary was the number of gifts this 2 year old bagged on her special day! Christmas is sure to be a disapointment after this mountain of presents.
Emma loves her new baby doll!
Her love of all things girly continues to grow- a quality that is both confusing and endearing to her parents.
It was a rainy, wind swept day my friends...but that didn't deter "Little E" and the band of merry men (& women) to make the yearly pilgramage to....MT SORAKSAN (namesake of our beloved apartment building). The adventure proved fruitful, with Emma discovering the land of "happy toilets" sized just for her.
In addition we caught a rare glimpse of "THE TARANTULA", infamously known in the Korean Trucking World. WHAT A BEAUTY!!!
We were also quite fortunate the Koreans have a great rest-stop system complete with restaurants etc. much like you see in Europe. We were absolutely giddy with excitement when we saw they served our favorite dish...mmm, boiled fish paste, with real seaweed no less!!!!
Mushroom?
The town is known for it's delicious "mushrooms". What might Freud say?
Lot's O' Hiking in the Korean Outback. The Pilgramage to Mt. Sorak was fraught with danger. Many a Korean broke their neck checking out Emma's blonde hair.
At the end of the trail was a nice waterfall, stream and.....
Monkeys? Tell me these folks don't look like chimps perched on the rocks, looking at you through a glass window at your local zoo.
We even found a way, after a full day of moutaineering, to get the Karokee band back together...we rocked the rainbow room with songs like "In the Navy" while drinking ice cold HITE beer!
Legendary (& rarely seen) Dick Snickers;
singer, dancer, & auctioneer showed up for the gig. Out-a-sight!
Life is indeed a beach for Emma while we are living in Korea. A new water park has been recently built and opened at Camp Humphrey's which is about 30min away. While the Army Corps of engineers are amazing at making something out of nothing, the one thing they seem to have forgot is heating the water...shrinkage does happen and it's not a pretty thing! Honestly, the water is literally 40degrees, but it doesn't deter Emma whatsoever and she's insistent to keep sliding even when shivering with blue-lips. The water park is pretty cool for even us big kids, with 2 large water slides, diving boards, volleyball courts...a pretty sweet set-up.
AVAILABLE BACHELOR!!
Meet Mr. Kim, world's most available bachelor...voted on by Korean Ladies Home Journal. This guy is one SNAZZY dresser, and loves a good cup of coffee. J, E, and I were quite fortunate to meet Mr. Kim prior to departing on our awesome week in Vietnam. Included some stats below for those interested:
Name: Mr. Kim
Occupation: Personal Shopper
Age: Unknown...but sure looks young
Favorite Color: Blue
Sign: Sassy Sagitarus
Hobbies: Weight lifting, Shopping, Smacking asses
Lazy Summer Days
Emma and Nate take in a snack as they chill on the couch... Scorching summer temps (and humidity) have replaced the yellow wind and have heated up their favorite slides, forcing them to take a break from the norm.
After waiting the required 30 min after eating, they'll head to the indoor swimming pool for some more fun!
Friends GOTTA HUG!!! Emma and Nate snuggle as they watch an 80's Raffi concert on tape.
If you haven't heard of Raffi, he is a Canadian who bears a frightening resemblance to a young Fidel Castro.
Chock-yit!!!"
Emma cleans out the last smears of brownie batter from the mixing bowl. Don't worry about bird-flu, the eggs in the batter are pasturized!
"Mo chock-yit peas..."
