Lighter

These past few weeks have been tough for us, and for all those in the F-16 community.
We've said goodbye to 2 beautiful moms and fellow F-16 pilot. Left behind are 3 spouses, 5 children, and countless friends and family who are struggling to deal with the enormous loss we all feel.

Sara Sullivan is one of those gone MUCH too soon, and has become a major source of inspiration for countless people. Sara had breast cancer, and died at age 28 after having a baby just 2 weeks prior.

In honor of Sara, Jen went in on Saturday and got a haircut! The new do has lightened her heart a bit, too.
The ponytail was donated to Pantene's Great Lengths Program. They work together with the American Cancer Society to provide wigs to women with cancer.

We are certainly holding each other a little tighter these days, and hope you will take the chance to love the ones you're with as well!

We love you all.

Life in Vermont...

The fam packed up and went north to enjoy a short vacay in Vermont while Tom flew with the Green Mountain Boys...

Between the trees, cheese and farms, everyone had a good time...we even had the opportunity of sharing an awesome case of the common cold. (Common refers to the fact we all stayed in one hotel room, thereby sharing the same air and living space.)

We all visited Shelburne Farms one morning...

This fence wasn't used to keep the sheep in, but keep Mia out.

Emma, Mia, and Jen walk to the chalet we stayed in for the week.
It was only 12,000 square feet...I thought I was a "Elite" Marriott Rewards member.

Honestly this is a barn...a real working, and enormous barn.

Mia and calf stare down...

"I got an egg and avian flu daddy" claims Emma.
Em & M were able to hunt the chicken coop for fresh eggs (in other words - free labor for the farm)

Somewhere in this torrent of hair & hurricane force winds is Emma.

78.8 miles per hour, and my hair gel is still working!
Mia, on the other hand, was not impressed.

"Picking apples is awesome, daddy"...eating them right off the tree is even better

Latest generation of a tree ladder

While visiting some friends, Mia immediately took the Beau, the chocolate lab.
Whether a dog, or the real thing, Mia loves anything chocolate.
