Classic Colorado - Part 1

Em & M were very gracious to put some of their hard earned money from bagging groceries at the Commissary towards paying for a family vacation back in good ole Colorado. Thanks kids!

"Fly me to the moon..." - Mia croon'd us the entire trip to Colorado.
Made for a very pleasant trip

"I am this many!" Emma exclaimed during a small birthday party in her honor in small-town Ft Morgan.

"Feed me...NOW!"

Pool time fun in sun which was especially warm on the Colorado plains

Mia's stare-down contest with a toad...Mia totally won.

Bloomin' beauties

Flower cheers...

After Mia's stare-down with the toad, she took on a Orang at the Denver zoo...
The Orang was a formidable match, but Mia prevailed and took home a killer Championship belt -- Cost me $15 cause our bag was over weight.

Emma took a break from manning the guns to get in a few slides.

Jen and I are seriously in trouble when this girl is a teenager. Way too cute!

Relaxin' on the porch with Grandma & Grandpa...& Looking good!

Splash down.

Nothing more fun than a box, your sister, and dad to slide you around

Trouble-maker #2

Everyone's smiling but Grandma...what's the beef?

Worn out after a week of fun with Jen's family...no better way to end the week.

Check back soon for Classic Colorado - Part 2

Life's a Beach

Mia's 1st day at the beach;

Today's shining success follows yesterday's sad misadventure wherein we were lied to by the liars at http://www.virginia.org/site/description.asp?attrID=34941 .
Contrary to the bold lettering on their site welcoming pets to Buckroe Beach, we were told as we set our gear down on the sand that dogs are, in fact, NOT allowed at Buckroe Beach.  Back home we went with Shorty and our 2 crying girls.

We regrouped, reapplied the sunscreen, and returned to conquer!

Mia digs the sand.  (Another amazing play on words)

Catch her if you can!

Cheeky Monkey

Building a wet sand pile.  Pilots are good at destruction...not so much with the construction.

Mia makes a dash while Dad isn't looking

Mia's got jazz hands

The wind up

Good throw, Mia!

Check out the Jazz Hand technique...you've either got it or you don't!

See you next time! (Said with jazz hands)

Mia's One-Derfull! (ha!)

Mia's taking it to the streets!
And to the YMCA where she gets some exercise watching Emma's gymnastics class.
When she gets tired, WE get to do the pushing.
So here's Mia before her Birthday Cake.
Cute, clean.
Here is the huge chocolate cake with abundant icing and sprinkles.
Game On!

And she's done!  We may have a future professional eater here.

After a mid-day bath, Mia opened her presents.
Ohhhhh!  Horseys!
Next?
Ohhhhh! Elephants!

And a sturdy baby stroller for her to push her baby in.
Here Mia is scooting through the tunnel!  Good thing she's started walking, as she is wearing out the seat of all her pants.
Seriously.  She is carrying purses through the house.
And here's Big Sister's braid.  She loves being fancy!

Oh No He Di-in't

I left Mia with Tom while I went to pick Emma up from school.
We returned to find THIS!
Heaven help us.... she's walking.
Perhaps it was the irresistible lure of the musical camel-toy Tom brought back for her.
